Description

Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50 Backup Power Kit

The Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50 Backup Power Kit is a complete single-phase backup energy solution designed for residential, small business, and light commercial applications.

Built around the Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50 Inverter/Charger and a Hubble Lithium AM2 5.5 kWh battery, this system provides dependable backup power for essential household or office loads while including the key protection, monitoring, communication, cabling, and installation accessories required for a professional system setup.

System Information

The system includes a 4,000 W continuous-output Victron MultiPlus-II inverter/charger paired with one Hubble Lithium AM2 5.5 kWh battery.

The inverter can support short-duration AC loads of up to approximately 5,200 W. At a typical continuous load of 1 kW, the battery may provide approximately 5.5 hours of runtime under ideal conditions.

Actual runtime will vary according to:

  • Connected load
  • Battery state of charge
  • System efficiency
  • Battery condition and temperature
  • Inverter and standby consumption
  • Installation and configuration

Avoiding unnecessary high peak loads can help extend battery runtime and improve overall system performance.

Key Features

  • Complete Victron and Hubble backup power solution
  • 4,000 W continuous pure sine wave output
  • Approximately 5.5 kWh lithium battery storage
  • Fast automatic transfer during grid interruptions
  • Victron PowerAssist technology
  • Intelligent multi-stage battery charging
  • Integrated AC and DC protection components
  • Energy monitoring using the Victron ET112 meter
  • Remote Hubble battery monitoring
  • Wi-Fi connectivity for compatible Victron GX monitoring equipment
  • Professional Lynx DC distribution and fuse monitoring
  • Suitable for future integration with solar PV equipment

Reliable Backup Power

The MultiPlus-II combines a pure sine wave inverter, intelligent battery charger, and automatic transfer switch in one unit. During a grid interruption, the system automatically supplies power from the connected battery bank to supported circuits.

Its clean pure sine wave output makes it suitable for sensitive and everyday electrical equipment, including:

  • Lighting
  • Internet and networking equipment
  • Televisions
  • Computers
  • Refrigeration
  • Security systems
  • Small appliances
  • Selected pumps and motors within the inverter's capacity

Victron PowerAssist

Victron's PowerAssist technology can supplement a limited grid or generator supply with battery power when electrical demand temporarily exceeds the available AC input.

When demand decreases, available incoming power can be used to recharge the battery.

Hubble Lithium Battery Storage

The included Hubble Lithium AM2 5.5 kWh 51 V battery provides compact, high-performance lithium energy storage. It is paired with a Hubble remote monitoring module, allowing compatible battery data and system information to be monitored remotely.

Additional battery capacity may be added where longer backup duration is required, subject to correct system design and compatibility.

Integrated Monitoring

The included Carlo Gavazzi Victron ET112 Energy Meter can measure single-phase grid energy flow up to 100 A and provide system data to compatible Victron monitoring equipment.

The kit also includes:

  • Victron RS485-to-USB interface
  • Victron MK3-USB interface
  • Victron CCGX Wi-Fi Module Simple
  • Hubble remote monitoring module

These components support system configuration, commissioning, monitoring, and communication.

DC Distribution and Protection

The included Victron Lynx Distributor provides four fused DC connection points with fuse-status monitoring. Two 200 A MEGA fuses are included for DC circuit protection.

The kit also includes high-current DC cabling, cable lugs, battery warning labels, AC disconnect switches, installation trunking, and other supporting accessories.
